MEGALI PANAGIA
It was once called Revenikia and it belonged to the villages of Mademohoria. It is built on the foot of a mountain and its distance from the sea is 16 km. In addition to the reach natural beauty surrounding it, the village itself is very beautiful, with most of the houses being two storeyed with tile roofs and balconies. There are old mansions as well, which constitute the Macedonian-Chalkidian architecture. It is a quiet village, far from tourism, but at the same time it is a very lively with an intense night life and many tavernas, cafes, pubd and discos. 2 km from the village lies the Holy Church of the Assumption of the Virgin, which is a very beautiful old church. Under its sanctuary there is a water spring.
          Local celebrations
-Carnival: Carnival parade is organised by the local authorities and the Cultural Associations, every year.
-15th August: Feast of the Holy Church of the Assumption of the Virgin. It is organised  at the village square and lasts from 5-10 days.
-8th September: Birth of the Virgin. Feast at the church of Panagouda, situated on the hill top by the village. Every year the traditional food preparation revives(courbani).

From and to Arnea: a bus 3 times pre day. There are also 6 TAXIS.
 

 
 
 

AMMOULIANI
The village was built on the island of Ammouliani after the disaster in Asia Minor, by refugees from the island of Marmara, in the years 1922-25. On that times, the island was a farm belonging to the monastery of Vatopedio. Today the village ha about 650 inhabitants and its patron Saint is St.Nicholas, whose church lies at the town square and was built by the monks in 1896. Close to the church there are monk buildings from the 19th century which have been used to house the refugees. The largest was the school of the village. Opposite those is the village Hall. Close to the village are the country churches of St.George, St.Paraskevi and Prophet Elias. For the boats there are big ports with docks and to the South there is a fishing resort. The island has many natural harbours and other smaller islands which function as wave breakers and protect the boats. There are beautiful sandy beaches to the use of the tourists.

Local celebrations
On St. George's day there is a feast organised by the church. Local dances at the village square and singing.
1st May, Feast at Kalopigado. All inhabitants gather and dance.
6th December, Names day of St.Nicholas

Coastal navigation
From Tripiti to Ammouliani ferry-boats, 6 times a day. In between there are extra boats. From ammouliani to Ouranoupoli and the Holy Mountain once a day at 09.00. Also cruises leave the island for the round of the island and visit the nearby islands and beaches.
